CREATIVE DAYS

You will start art working at 10 or 11am (depending on artists) to 5pm after a talk or demonstration from the Artist in residence we will break for a lunch provided by the host from 1 to 2pm - then an evening meal on the first day. We can advise accommodation. The second day pretty similar, we want this venture to be serious and fun – hard work and joyful we want you to feel you have learnt something, you have benefited from your experience, or you want to perhaps hone your already vast experience of artwork, we think also that it may be useful if you are keen on building a foundation in art or just want to experience for the first time being with a group of up to 12 people being tutored by an artist.  Open to beginners, people who want to brush up their techniques meet with different host artists anyone who is inquisitive about art... You will work with tutor for two days with an hour for lunch. You can stay for a three course evening meal cooked on the premises. The menu and or the chef will be known nearer time.  In Tuscany 2008 we will visit one of the local restaurants , You will be given directions on how to get there, For the art break in Buckinghamshire you will have the option of arriving at the venue on the first day or going to your accommodation the night before but of course this will all depend on how far you will be travelling. Do not hesitate to contact Claire Muldoon by phone or email ....if you need to discuss further see CONTACT PAGE for details.

FROM THE JOHN HEGLEY AUTUMNAL WEEKEND  - Thankyou John and everyone  and Sid Russell) for a fabulous weekend .

"It really was a magical weekend - one gets so little time, even when working in a creative capacity as I do (it;s still work though!), to revisit, explore and enjoy creativity and imagination with other like-minded folk, all of whom were inspirational.. Add to this the wonderful hospitality atmosphere and the peaceful surroundings you offer you end of with the perfect weekend. And on top of this to be guided by the sublime John Hegley who was wonderfully gracious and entertaining throughout.  Artbreakmotel stands out as my 09 highlight .  Cannot recomend enough! "   Joanna - filmmaker BFI

Will post more photos and comments in due course

"Just wanted to send you a big better-late-than-never

 T H A N K   Y O U  for our warm words weekend
at the Artbreak Motel where
although its always crowded,
You still can find some room....

You can sit with no shoes on
alongside your muse, John,
(the poet from Luton)
on a sofa or futon,
take tea with a bourbon
while clare puts the stew on
lletting you express views on
the importance of rhyme or
jjust have a nice time, 'til you're ready to move on"

Just spent the weekend at the art break motel, with some lovely and talented people, including John, thoroughly recommended to all if such a workshop is run again.

It was an amazing weekend, met some wonderful people, ate some superb food and even managed to put together some poems, which reading them out in front of such a warm crowd last weekend was something I won't forget..........ecially John Hegley ones.

What a great weekend, and such nice people too. ....... I thoroughly recommend the course and John's advice is priceless. I would certainly do another. Maggie

DRAWING/PAINTING WEEKEND with ALDOUS EVELEIGH 19 AND 20 august 2006

Viv Peto writes ' It was quite fantastic and inspiring, hard work but not stressful.  I feel my painting has probably changed forever now, and for the better of course. I would love to do another one sometime

Jo Melvin says: 'The drawing weekend at Artbreak Motel was really helpful to me; I always seem to forget just how important drawing is and how it serves to bring real inspiration to everything one does as a practising artist and this weekend was a brilliant reminder of that fact and  has really freed up my painting in a much needed way.

Thanks Aldous for the wonderful teaching-- and to Claire and Roland for the warm hospitality'
